About the OpportunityA well-established,
family-owned general contractor in the Northern Chicago suburbs is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its team.
The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, detail-oriented projects across commercial construction, high-end residential, restaurants, country clubs, churches, and other custom projects. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit GC where Superintendents have significant ownership over their projects and work directly with company leadership.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day field operations from project start through closeout.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to keep work progressing on time.
- Handle site layout and field coordination throughout construction.
- Conduct regular quality-control inspections and ensure work meets plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, architects, owners, and subcontractors.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and communicate upcoming project needs.
- Review drawings and specifications and proactively identify field conflicts.
- Manage deliveries, site logistics, inspections, and project documentation.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the construction process.
- Oversee punch list and project closeout.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent with a general contractor.
- Strong experience managing commercial construction projects
. - Experience with high-end residential, restaurants, country clubs, churches, hospitality, or other high-touch/custom projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction layout and field coordination
. - Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong subcontractor management and scheduling experience.
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on craftsmanship and quality.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working directly with owners, architects, and clients.
