Pinto Construction Group is an MBE/DBE subcontracting firm based out of Palos Hills, Illinois. We perform civil and commercial construction services including but not limited to, light gauge metal framing, drywall, taping, acoustical ceilings, specialty ceilings, door/hardware, sign installation, as well as commercial and industrial painting services. Job Description

This position requires a highly motivated individual who possesses a comprehensive understanding and a proven track record in estimating, managing, and bidding painting projects, performing take- offs of new and existing buildings, understanding specifications, knowledge of material and labor costs, use of production rates, blue-print reading skills, and electronic bidding and take-off solutions. This individual is expected to prospect for potential new clients and turn them into increased business.

This individual is expected to develop relationships as well as build off of preexisting ties. Qualified applicants will have fundamental knowledge of industrial and commercial coatings and processes. An education in construction management is a plus.

Position Responsibilities
  • Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for commercial painting and wall coverings from digital construction documents in various stages of development utilizing On-Screen Takeoff software.
  • Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for commercial painting and wall coverings for existing structures by field measurement.
  • Prepare proposals for clients and submit in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate with clients (general contractors, owners, property managers, etc.) as needed.
  • Foster relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Create a pipeline of opportunities by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify potential clients and build relationships with the decision makers in those organizations.
  • Follow-up with clients post-bid.
  • Prepare submittals, samples and drawdowns
  • Assist operations department with quantifying and pricing change documents as needed.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and schematics to communicate with superintendents to set goals, measure production, and maintain budget.
  • Monitor project progress and actual costs and hours versus budgeted goals to be able to measure actual production rates versus estimated.
Position Requirements
  • Experience in commercial construction plan reading.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • 70% Computer/Office work, 30% site visits/field take off.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to estimate several projects concurrently and meet submission deadlines.
  • Experience in commercial painting estimating required.
