Meridian Stone Search is partnering with an established construction firm to hire a Project Manager focused on energy and utility infrastructure. This opportunity suits someone who enjoys technically challenging work, takes initiative, and wants responsibility for projects from early planning through completion.

You’ll manage projects involving large scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), power generation, and electrical infrastructure, working closely with clients, engineers, equipment suppliers, and construction teams.

• Manage projects from preconstruction and design coordination through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
• Coordinate engineering, permitting, utility requirements, and long-lead equipment deliveries.
• Support estimating, proposal development, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiations.
• Oversee project financials, including billing, cost tracking, and change orders.
• Lead project meetings and keep clients and project partners informed.
• Identify and resolve risks affecting safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
• Visit project sites to support field teams and keep work progressing.
• Coordinate startup, testing, and turnover activities.

• Approximately 2–5+ years of relevant construction or project management experience.
• Experience with energy, power, or utility infrastructure projects; BESS experience is especially valuable.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination skills.
• The ability to interpret drawings and work through technical challenges with engineers and field teams.
• Clear communication, strong follow-through, and an entrepreneurial approach to project ownership.
• Willingness to work from an office in the Chicago area and travel approximately 20–30%.
