Sample Maker; Bridal​/Luxury Evening Wear

Alyssa Kristin is looking for a Sample Maker (Bridal/Luxury Evening wear) to support our development team by transforming completed patterns into beautifully constructed initial samples. This freelance/contract position in either Chicago or NYC and is ideal for a highly skilled maker with 5–7 years of experience in couture or luxury bridal, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to deliver impeccable craftsmanship under tight timelines.

• Construct first samples from start to finish with precision, craftsmanship, and couture-level finishing
• Analyze patterns and proactively flag potential construction or fit issues during development
• Collaborate directly with the design team during fittings, taking clear notes and reference photos as needed
• Execute revisions and rework samples according to updated fit and design direction
• Maintain the highest standards of quality and accuracy throughout every step of the process

• Expert understanding of couture garment fit, structure, and construction
• Extensive experience building high-end garments with exceptional hand and machine sewing skills
• Strong knowledge of luxury fabrics, including silk, crepe-back satin, silk satin, and chiffon, and how to handle them with precision
• Experience with hand-embroidery, lace appliqué, and fine finishing techniques
• Proven ability to interpret and execute complex patterns
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with designers and technical teams
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines and adapting to evolving priorities
