Hip Hop Theater Teacher for Elementary and Middle School

Music House is seeking a teaching artist grounded in Hip Hop culture to join a school residency team. We are looking for an artist whose creative practice and cultural knowledge reflect the African American roots of Hip Hop, spoken word, movement, and storytelling traditions.

• 7th Grade Hip Hop Theater — 8:45–9:45
• 3rd Grade Music & Movement Collaboration — 11:50–12:50
• Kdg or 2nd Grade Music and Dance Foundations — 1:15–2:15
• The middle school class centers Hip Hop movement, rhythm, spoken word, music production, and storytelling.
• Younger grades engage in rhythm, ensemble work, and movement-based music activities that connect to the overall program.

• Deep understanding of Hip Hop as a cultural movement, not only a dance style
• Knowledge of African American artistic lineages connected to Hip Hop
• Experience working with youth in schools or community settings
• Ability to build a supportive, inclusive space for student voice
• Strong collaboration skills with other teaching artists
• Detailed curriculum and structure will be shared with selected candidates.
