What we’re looking for
:
Vice President, Media for MSL’s Corporate practice

What you’ll do: As VP, Corporate Media Expert, you will serve as a senior leader driving the continued growth and evolution of the media offering within the Corporate Reputation practice. In this role, you will identify and shape compelling narratives that elevate our clients’ reputations, translating complex business priorities into strategic earned media opportunities that resonate in today’s fast-moving news environment.

You will proactively uncover and develop high-impact storytelling opportunities, securing placements across top-tier, trade, and emerging media platforms. With a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, you will identify new and nontraditional outlets that align with shifting audience behaviors and influence patterns.

Responsibilities:
  • A trusted advisor to both clients and internal teams, you will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with publishers, journalists, editors, content creators, and event producers.
  • Guide clients on effective engagement strategies, ensuring thoughtful positioning, differentiated messaging, and measurable media impact across a diverse portfolio of corporate reputation accounts.
  • Write materials that will make media take notice and raise the profile of our clients and their leaders, including persuasive pitches, press releases, interview briefing books, etc.
  • Curate strategically targeted media lists and build relationships with editors and producers across multiple verticals, including business, finance, technology, niche media and general top-tier outlets; pitch stories and secure placements
  • Stay on top of daily news and media trends to guide client counsel and keep Corporate Reputation team informed
  • Assist in the development of internal materials and presentations on media relations best practices and tools
Requirement:
  • 8-10+ years experience in Public Relations, preferably within corporate agency experience, strong direct media relations experience required
  • Creative thinker with a pulse on what’s happening in current events, trends and culture; shares a passion for bringing forward-looking ideas to the team and client
  • Flexibility/versatility to tackle different tasks throughout the day and pivot with little or no warning based on client/team needs
  • Excellent writing skills are essential to this position, as well as great attention to detail, organization, time management, multi-tasking and proactivity
  • Strong verbal communication skills, poise and professionalism
  • Knowledge of media tools such as Cision, Muck Rack, etc.

Compensation Range: $115,000-$194,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
