This role is ideal for a seasoned mixing engineer passionate about bringing an artist’s personal music vision to life. You will work closely with the creator in a studio environment in Chicago, handling the full engineering process for a single recording session. The project requires hands-on expertise in editing, mixing, and producing sound, with the potential for future collaboration based on the success of this session.
Your technical skills and creative input will be essential in shaping the final sound and ensuring the artist’s vision is fully realized.
- Collaborate directly with the artist to understand and execute their creative vision
- Oversee the entire engineering process, including recording, editing, mixing, and sound production
- Set up and operate studio equipment to achieve optimal sound quality
- Provide technical guidance and creative suggestions during the session
- Ensure all deliverables meet professional audio standards
- Work on-site in Chicago for the full duration of the session
- Proven experience as a mixing or audio engineer in a studio setting
- Advanced proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live)
- Strong background in music editing, mixing, and sound production
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and adapt to creative direction
- Must be available for on-site work in Chicago for the scheduled session
