Job Description
NBC 5 Chicago is looking for a Sports Anchor/Reporter to gather information on current sports events, games, and personalities and prepare the information for live on-air broadcast presentation. Responsibilities include providing anchored sports segment(s) for newscasts. The role functions as both Sports Anchor and Reporter for on-air and station web or digital platforms. The position requires working within a strong team environment.
Qualifications- Minimum of 4 years television news anchor/reporter experience covering Sports.
- BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or related field.
- AFTRA-union representation required; membership will be required upon hire.
- Very knowledgeable of all Chicago sports teams and personnel.
- Ability to work varied work schedules during the week and on weekends when needed.
- Strong speech skills to communicate and present effectively on-air during live broadcasts, breaking news situations and to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, individually and with co-anchors.
- Excellent interviewing skills.
- Ability to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines on a regular basis.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to work with a variety of computer applications.

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
$120,000 - $165,000 (based on experience)
