Director, UX Design; Freelance

Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented and passionate Director, UX Design to join our team who has a deep understanding of UX principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

You will be responsible for project engagements including deliverables such as concepts, wireframes, interactive prototypes, specifications, engagement agreements, and timelines.

Craft user experiences alongside key product stakeholders to understand and support product business goals, advocating user‑centered design industry best practices and effectively managing design resources.

Design wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts, interactions, and user flows.

Develop visually appealing and brand‑consistent designs, including layouts, typography, and graphics.

Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, project managers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration of design solutions.

Work closely with the design team to implement enterprise‑level design systems similar to the Carbon Design System in all solutions.

• Proven experience as a UX Director or senior‑level UX practitioner with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• 8+ years leading UI and UX design for enterprise‑scale digital platforms.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, primarily Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of usability principles, information architecture, and human‑centered design.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards WCAG and best practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
• Experience working with design systems.
• Strict brand guidelines and UX best practices knowledge.
• Demonstrated knowledge and use of design pattern trends and best practices.
• Innovative and collaborative mindset, adaptable to fast‑paced, ever‑evolving creative environments.

• Experience working with design systems such as Carbon Design System.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Target.

Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Digital Experience, Interaction Design, or related field preferred.
