Under supervision, performs responsible technical duties in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment and related duties as required.

• Operate audio-visual equipment, including 16mm movie projectors, tape recorders, compact disk players, slide projectors, videocassette recorders, film strip projectors, and phonographs.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to teachers and students in the operation of audio-visual equipment.
• Inspect and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Order and replace worn-out parts on equipment.
• Maintain inventory records of audio‑visual equipment and related materials.
• Store audio‑visual equipment and distribute equipment to teachers as requested.

• High‑school graduation (or G.E.D. equivalent) with at least one year of experience in operating and maintaining a variety of audio‑visual equipment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Good knowledge of methods and procedures used in the operation and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment.
• Ability to provide technical assistance to teachers and students in the proper operation of audio‑visual equipment and to prepare and maintain accurate records.
• Skill in the operation, care, and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment and materials.

Light work:
Exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects. The position is rated as Light Work.

• Establish and maintain Chicago residency within six months of hire and throughout employment.
• Be fully vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID‑19 testing.
