We are looking for a flexible and technically skilled Broadcast Technician to support a wide range of studio-based broadcast operations. This role plays a critical part in the smooth execution of daily newscasts and production, handling responsibilities primarily for robotic camera operation, spanning Jib and Steadicam, audio support, and control room functions. The ideal candidate is a dependable team player with strong technical acumen and an eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Robotic Camera Operation:
    Operate and manage robotic camera systems in studio environments for live and recorded newscasts.
  • Studio Camera Operation:
    Assist with studio jib and Steadicam operation, shot composition, framing, proper balance, spatial awareness, iris, focus, and related camera support.
  • Audio Assist:
    Set up, test, and run audio equipment during live and taped productions.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Technology, Media Production, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a television studio, broadcast operations, or control room environment.
  • Proficiency with Ross Cam Bot, Sony CCU and PTZ camera controls, and newsroom computer systems such as ENPS, Outlook, and Windows.
  • Experience with Ross Dashboard, Over Drive, Caprica, and other broadcast video systems preferred.
  • Basic understanding of color correction, iris control, IP-based audio/video systems, signal flow, and streaming workflows.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven broadcast environment and work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new broadcast technologies, systems, and workflows as they become available.
  • Become a member of IBEW local 1220 television broadcast engineers’ union.
Compensation

$22.13 - $46.68 per hour - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
