Salary range: $72,500 - $78,500

Role Overview
This role is responsible for monitoring the social media landscape, identifying opportunities to join relevant conversations, and producing high-quality content under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent news judgment, and can quickly create platform-native content while maintaining brand voice, accuracy, and strategic messaging. This role will work closely with the Vertical Video Producer to maintain brand consistency and to produce content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day content creation, publishing, and community engagement on Tik Tok, Instagram (including Reels), and You Tube Shorts.
  • Conceptualize, film, edit, and publish short-form video content that aligns with campaign messaging and capitalizes on trending formats and audio.
  • Edit video using native platform tools and mobile editing software (e.g., Cap Cut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush).
  • Work closely with the Vertical Video Producer to coordinate content production and maintain visual and tonal consistency.
  • Monitor short-form video trends, sounds, and formats across platforms and pitch creative concepts to the team.
  • Engage with followers and respond to comments, DMs, and interactions on assigned platforms.
  • Track content performance metrics — including watch time, completion rate, share rate, and follower growth — to inform creative direction.
  • Collaborate with other content staff to repurpose or adapt campaign moments into short-form video.
  • Stay updated on platform algorithm changes, new features, and emerging best practices for short-form content.
  • Contribute to cross-team projects and support other campaign digital needs during high-priority moments, including event coverage and content production.
About You
  • You are a visual-first thinker who instinctively knows what will stop someone mid-scroll.
  • You are deeply familiar with short-form video trends on Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, and You Tube Shorts.
  • You are comfortable filming, editing, and publishing content using native platform tools and mobile workflows.
  • You pay attention to what performs well on social, even outside of politics, and you bring those instincts to campaign content.
  • You are organized and can manage multiple content deadlines while staying responsive to real-time opportunities.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, especially when coordinating with video producers and creative staff.
  • You are comfortable experimenting with new formats, trends, and creative approaches.
  • You understand that political campaign work often requires flexibility, including occasional long hours or weekend work.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce accurate content under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and emerging digital trends.
  • Experience with social publishing, monitoring, and analytics tools.
  • Short-form video editing skills are strongly preferred (e.g., Cap Cut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush, or native platform editing tools). Basic graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Strong judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when major news or events require rapid content development.
  • Experience managing social media or digital communications.
How To Apply
Please submit your resume to apply. Applicants must include 2–3 examples of social media content they have created, filmed, edited, managed, or supported (specify your role/participation). Samples, personal accounts, or side-projects are fine. Links, PDFs, and/or screenshots of posts are all acceptable. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received, and selected candidates will be contacted for an interview on a rolling basis.
