POSITION SUMMARY
The Digital Content Intern supports the Communications team's video and digital media work for Erikson Institute. Working under the direction of the Digital Content Producer, the intern assists primarily with video editing, digital asset management, and the setup and breakdown of video and photo shoots. This is a hands‑on role for someone building a portfolio in video production who wants exposure to a full content workflow, from pre‑production through editing and delivery.
PRINCIPALDUTIES Video Editing
- Assist with editing video content under the direction of the Digital Content Producer, including assembling rough cuts, trimming interview footage, and preparing short‑form social cuts.
- Sync and organize audio, apply basic color and audio correction, and export deliverables to spec.
- Pull and place b‑roll, lower thirds, and graphic elements following provided templates and brand standards.
- Create simple motion graphics.
- Ingest, label, and organize raw footage, audio, photography, and graphic files.
- Maintain consistent file naming, folder structure, and backup practices.
- Help track and catalogue both in‑house and externally produced media assets within the Image Relay DAM.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down lighting, audio, and camera equipment for interviews, events, and in‑office shoots.
- Help maintain, charge, and inventory media equipment before and after shoots.
- Assist with the permissions/release process for shoot participants.
To perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Communications, Film/Video, Multimedia, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of a non‑linear editing application (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with basic camera, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Strong organizational habits and attention to detail in file management.
- Reliable, collaborative, and able to follow direction while taking initiative on assigned tasks.
- Reel or portfolio of student/personal work preferred.
