Artist Teacher of Musical Theatre Voice – Part Time
Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) seeks an Artist Teacher to provide weekly private singing lessons to undergraduate Musical Theatre majors and other Theatre Conservatory students on applied voice tracks. The role includes active recruitment of potential students, maintaining healthy pedagogical practices, and participation in program activities such as adjudicating juries and program auditions.
Responsibilities- Teach weekly private singing lessons to undergraduate Musical Theatre majors and other students on applied voice tracks.
- Assist in actively recruiting potential students and sustaining successful studios through effective and healthy pedagogy.
- Participate in program activities, including adjudication of juries and program auditions.
- Significant documented teaching and/or performing experience.
- Professional singing experience in classical and/or musical theatre voice with visibility as a performer.
- Functional piano skills to support voice lessons.
- Bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years teaching performance students at the college level.
- Equivalent professional experience in lieu of earned degrees.
- Master’s Degree (MM or MFA) in music, musical theatre, or a related field.
- Experience with repertoire ranging from pre‑Golden Age to contemporary pop/rock styles.
- Background in pedagogy and vocal health, strong knowledge of IPA, CCM, crossover repertoire, amplified singing, vocal improvisation, and body work.
- Documented success in collegiate teaching.
- Studio sound system.
- Basic office/classroom equipment.
- Smart‑classroom equipment (computer, monitor, projector, audio equipment).
Standard climate‑controlled office and classroom environment.
