Student Assistant to the Director of Choral Activities

The Vocal Ensembles Assistant will be responsible for setting up/striking rehearsal materials for University Chorale (Monday afternoon), University Chamber Singers (Wednesday afternoon) and Music Department Practicum (Thursday afternoon): rearranging chairs/music stands, bringing extra music/pencils/binders, arranging air purifiers, etc. In addition, the assistant will aid in the passing out of, logging loans of and collecting of ensemble music, as well as maintaining the organization of the choral music library.

The Vocal Ensembles Assistant will also be required work in tandem with Music Department Faculty, the Instrumental Ensembles Assistant, and Music Department Lab Assistants to aid in the setting up and tearing down of materials for Music Department concerts and events.

MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY

Must be Federal Work Study Eligible

Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter

Familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets. Ability to set and maintain a regular weekly routine of setting up/tearing down rehearsal materials, as well as the physical ability to move chairs/music stands/choral robes, and organize/file physical sheet music in coordination with entries in the digital choral library. Applicant should also be willing to work collaboratively with other student employees and Music Department Supervisors. Applicant will be responsible for logging work hours.

Between 5-10 hours a week (average). Weekly set-up/tear-down should take about 30-45minutes three times a week. Work in the library/lab should average 2-3 hours a week. Concert weekends will require extra time (as much as 3 hours per event).
