Stage Manager – Boy My Greatness

The Village Theater is seeking a Stage Manager for our upcoming production of Boy My Greatness directed by Emily Newmark, performed at Chicago Dramatists.

Boy My Greatness explores the lives of the boy actors who played women onstage at the Globe Theater while Shakespeare was still writing his plays. The play grapples with queerness in the face of conformity, coming of age, and the looming threat of a descending plague.

Rehearsals:
Beginning September 19
4 days per week, daytime rehearsals
Facility Theatre

Performances:
November 13–23
December 2–6 — extension

Performances will take place at Chicago Dramatists.

Compensation
Stipend: $1,000

We’re looking for an organized, communicative, collaborative Stage Manager who is excited to support a new theatrical work and a creative process centered around ensemble, queerness, and historical storytelling.
