Light On Anxiety CBT Treatment Centers, founded in 2012, is a fast-paced, rapidly growing practice that provides state of the art, cutting edge treatments for anxiety, OCD and related conditions. Light On Anxiety’s mission is to provide accessible, practical, empirically supported Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) based treatment to help clients move past anxiety, OCD and related disorders as rapidly as possible.
Light On Anxiety strives to exceed client expectations and is committed to providing excellence in customer service at each step of the anxiety treatment process. We pride ourselves in working collaboratively and providing treatment that is compassionate, personalized and action-oriented.
Light On Anxiety is seeking an enthusiastic and personable Community Outreach & Events Intern to serve as the face of our organization at community events throughout the Chicagoland area. This role is primarily focused on staffing weekend events, where you’ll engage with children, families, educators, and community members to share information about who we are and the services we provide. The ideal candidate is outgoing, confident starting conversations, and energized by meeting new people.
Community events can be fast-paced with multiple people stopping by at once, so we’re looking for someone who can think on their feet, multitask, and keep conversations flowing while creating a welcoming and engaging experience for everyone who visits our booth. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with others and making a meaningful impact in the community.
- Represent Light On Anxiety at weekend community events, fairs, festivals, and school functions.
- Engage with children, parents, and community members in a warm, approachable, and enthusiastic manner.
- Share information about our services and answer general questions about the practice.
- Create a welcoming, positive experience for everyone who visits our booth.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
- Collect contact information from interested families and community partners.
- Work alongside the marketing and operations teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Weekend availability is required and is the primary schedule for this role.
- Experience in customer service, community outreach, event staffing, education, childcare, recreation, or similar public-facing roles.
- Passion for mental health and helping connect families with resources.
- Outgoing, friendly personality with a passion for engaging with people.
- Comfortable interacting with children, families, and community members.
- Strong communication skills and confidence initiating conversations with strangers.
- Able to multitask and stay composed in busy, high-energy environments where multiple people may need assistance at once.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to represent Light On Anxiety professionally.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to event locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
