Position Overview

Oportun is seeking qualified candidates with customer service, cashier, sales, or hospitality experience for full‑time work. The Member Loyalty Representative focuses on creating a rewarding and unique member service experience. You will listen, help, and connect with people at all touchpoints, including in stores and through community outreach, educating members about our inclusive, affordable financial services.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome members with a warm greeting and provide quality member service.
  • Process transactions accurately while following company policies and protecting members  information.
  • Work in a team or independently, including times without direct supervision, and strive to exceed daily lending and servicing goals.
  • Inform and educate prospective members about Oportun s services through outreach more than 50% of the time at store locations, partner locations, and community events. Activities include:
    • Building relationships with local businesses (e.g., mechanics, dental offices, furniture stores) and speaking with owners and employees about how Oportun s services can help their customers.
    • Conducting outreach at local markets and events to increase awareness, capture leads, and assist with starting applications.
    • Engaging with people at and around Oportun s retail locations to encourage store visits and assist with applications.
    • Supporting community events by distributing information about Oportun and its products and services.
    • Using iPads or assisting potential members with scanning QR codes to start new applications.
  • Light housekeeping to keep the work area inviting and presentable.
  • Use a computer intermittently (approximately 3–6 hours per day) for administrative tasks and servicing members.
  • Stand during member-facing tasks; sitting is allowed for non-member-facing tasks.
  • Occasionally unpack and store office or cleaning supplies.
  • Travel between designated work locations (including outreach) within a reasonable commuting distance as part of standard duties. Travel is limited to sites within an ordinary commute.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Outgoing, sales-focused, and enjoy speaking with people.
  • Passionate about helping members, including prospective members through outreach and educational activities.
  • Available to work weekends with a rotating schedule; biweekly scheduling.
  • Regular, reliable attendance to support store operations.
  • Willing and able to work outdoors year-round to identify new sales opportunities through outreach activities.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, as needed.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate office equipment (phones, scanners, iPads).
  • Ability to organize and file paper documents.

Compensation:
The base hourly rate for this full-time position is $17.00–$18.00.

Compensation ranges reflect location and experience and may vary by role.
