Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We are looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist– to provide professional dental services to our WNC community.
The position is full-time with benefits, and the candidate may work 30 to 40 hours per week. The days and hours worked are negotiable. 1-hour recall appointments, single column, 8-9 patients per day.
EducationGraduation from an accredited dental hygiene education program
TrainingSatisfactory completion of educational program and clinical rotations
Certification(s)/LicensureCurrent and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist in North Carolina
Experience2 Years’ Experience preferred
Skills preferredLocal Anesthesia Certification
Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian
Key Responsibilities- Take, review, and update medical history
- Examine gums, using probes, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Remove calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums, using dental instruments
- Apply fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay
- Provide individualized dental hygiene education and counseling to patients
- Work shifts on Mobile Dental Unit as assigned
- Accrued PTO(156 hrs. in 1st year based on 40 hr. work week)
