Adjunct Instructor - Dental Hygiene Program
Malcolm X College is currently seeking adjunct instructors to teach in our Dental Hygiene Program. If you have passion for teaching and learning and are committed to the mission of the community college, consider joining our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students' diverse needs and engage the students in critical thinking and problem-solving.
The Dental Hygiene Program is a 2-year program. Upon completion, students earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene. The mission of Malcolm X College Dental Hygiene Program is to educate students to provide comprehensive dental hygiene care to diverse populations using critical thinking and evidenced-based decision making.
Essential duties include designing courses to meet learning outcomes, creating an effective learning environment, employing a variety of assessments, helping students reach their goals, contributing to academic and professional communities, presenting effective instruction, assessing and grading students, maintaining attendance records and student grades, and holding student conference time.
Qualifications include a DDS or DMD license in the state of Illinois, at least 5 years of clinical experience in the field, knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System or similar, prior experience with online teaching, excellent communication skills, and experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population.
