Role Description

This Dental Hygienist position is based in Rockford Illinois. This role is responsible for performing dental cleanings, maintaining records including accurate charting and occasional perio scaling. Day‑to‑day tasks include assessing patients’ oral health, identifying signs of periodontal disease, taking and reviewing dental X‑rays and intra‑oral 3‑D scans, and documenting findings in patient records. The Dental Hygienist provides patient education on hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment plans, while collaborating closely with dentist and other team members to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care.

Other key parts of this position include maintaining infection control standards, adhering to safety protocols, and contributing to a positive, professional office environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong clinical skills in Dental Care.
  • Proficiency in Hygiene and Dental Prophylaxis procedures, including scaling, polishing, and preventive services.
  • Knowledge of Periodontal Disease, including assessment, early detection, and ongoing maintenance protocols.
  • Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Illinois.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain procedures and oral health concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to infection control, safety standards, and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with dentists and staff, manage time effectively, and provide a calm, professional chairside manner.
  • Experience with Open Dental practice management software and 3‑D intra‑oral scanning experience is beneficial.
