Dental Clinic Clerk
The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) is seeking candidates to join a worldwide leader in oral health education, clinical care and research that is patient –centered and evidence-based as full-time Dental Clinic Clerks.
The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master's programs.
The Dental Clinic Clerk I provides a variety of patient-related dental support functions, which include checking in patients, verifying insurance at the point of contact, establishing and maintaining dental charts, collecting/posting all forms of patient payments, scheduling and confirming appointments and interacting with patients at the UIC College of Dentistry Clinics.
Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- One year (12 months) of experience:
- Certified Dental Assistant in a dental clinic facility, program, or in dentistry practice, if required by employing institution
- Credit for college/university course work and/or training in dental care, health care related areas, or closely related medical/dental areas
- Customer service/management in a medical/dental setting
- Must be Bilingual in English/Spanish.
The preferred candidate will have experience in cash handling, ability to multitask and prioritize workload, and effectively interact with patients, faculty, staff and students in addition to individuals outside the University community, in a positive manner, to achieve customer satisfaction.
