Dental Assistant

Salaries are based on experience and qualifications.

Location:

South Chicago/Pullman.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (Extended hours rotation of Noon - 8:00pm once per week) with a Saturday rotation 8:00am - 1:00pm.

We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team and provide chairside assistance in response to the dentist's instructions in the delivery of dental care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for routine functions such as charting the mouth as directed by the dentist, recording medical and dental histories, and assisting in the delivery of four‑handed dentistry.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain general cleanliness of equipment in operations, laboratory, and sterilization room.
  • Cleans and sets up instrument trays, sterilizes instruments; prepares operatories and stocks them with supplies.
  • Remove oral debris by water, compressed air, and vacuum devices.
  • Mix dental material to be used by the dentist.
  • Receive removable prosthesis for cleaning and repair by the dentist or laboratory.
  • Seat patients, place protective garments, lubricate lips, and prepare patients.
  • Take patient vital signs—blood pressure and pulse.
  • Apply pit and fissure sealants.
  • Perform coronal polishing of teeth to remove plaque and stains.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or its equivalent.
  • Dental Assistant Diploma.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • CPR certification required and must be maintained.
  • Knowledge of dental materials and equipment.
  • Certificate in coronal polishing and sealant application.

Requirements

  • Dental Assistant Diploma.
