Job TypePart-time or Full-Time
Key Responsibilities- Provide preventative and restorative dental care to infants, children, and adolescents, including patients with special healthcare needs
- Diagnose and treat oral diseases, developmental conditions, and trauma specific to pediatric patients
- Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia in accordance with state regulations and protocols
- Perform pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, space maintenance, extractions, and composite restorations
- Educate patients and their families on oral hygiene, nutrition, growth and development, and preventive care
- Work collaboratively with other dental providers, hygienists, medical providers, and administrative staff
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, HIPAA, OSHA, and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach as needed
- All other duties as assigned
- DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited dental school
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program
- Active and Unrestricted Illinois State Dental License
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatric Dentistry
- Valid DEA and Controlled Substance licenses for Illinois
- Malpractice insurance (or eligibility to obtain)
- CPR/BLS (PALS preferred) certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pediatric dental setting (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills with children and caregivers
