The Principal, Senior Interior Designer is a key member of our Discipline Leadership team, responsible for the Interior Design Team within the broader architecture and engineering practice. The role will provide a great career opportunity for an ambitious leader ready to work with a team of energized and talented staff from diverse backgrounds and with an established client network. This opportunity provides career growth is all areas particularly in new client development, staff mentoring and excellence in design execution.

While this position is locally focused to start, it can lead to a more regional and national leadership level for the appropriate candidate.

Key Responsibilities

General

* Develop strategies for growth of the Chicago Workplace business.

* Lead and manage the Chicago Workplace team.

* Collaborate with Chicago leadership in pursuing Workplace opportunities and avoid potential client relationship conflicts.

* Encourage cooperation, sharing of skills and workload between Workplace staff located in various business centers across the company and in other practice areas, where considered appropriate.

* Influence is typically within the region, business center, major project/client work, and may impact multiple areas of the organization.

* Serve as a champion for innovation and transformation and influence others to demonstrate a growth-mindset.

* Provides diversity in thought, action and awareness.

* Responsible for projects, functions, and operational elements for their scope. Demonstrate broad leadership for professional excellence and project execution that drives client satisfaction. Collaborates across the business to drive innovation, synergies, partnerships, and knowledge sharing.

* Seeks out opportunity to collaborate across the business. Actively engage with the Stantec community and serves as a leader in their local professional community. Strong external reputation as a thought leader who understands client and community needs and can differentiate our world-class expertise.

* Serve as a seller-doer and be an essential part of a project team Enhance Stantec's ability to win work during all aspects of a project's lifecycle from planning, programming, design, construction documentation, contract administration through to project close-out.
