Senior Self-Cert Architect

Overview

We re hiring a Senior Self-Certification Architect to join a growing design/build firm with an expanding design and engineering services group. This role is ideal for an experienced, Chicago-licensed architect who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading teams, and wants to play a key role in growing a collaborative practice.

• Lead architectural design projects across rooftop structures, residential, multi-unit, and mixed-use buildings
• Manage projects from concept through permitting and construction coordination
• Supervise and mentor junior designers, ensuring zoning and building code compliance
• Work closely with in-house engineering, inspection, and construction teams
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines
• Communicate directly with clients and internal stakeholders
• Support business growth through collaboration and leadership

• 10+ years of experience as a Chicago-licensed Architect
• Self-Certification experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and building codes
• Experience managing projects independently and supervising designers
• Confident, self-motivated professional with strong organizational skills
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
• Construction experience and/or experience designing and building a personal residence preferred

• Salary range: $120,000 - $170,000 per year
