Interior Architect
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Interior Architect, where you will execute project deliverables within specified timelines, coordinate design documentation, and ensure alignment with programmatic needs and design intent. You will play a critical role in the design process, from schematic phases to construction administration, using your knowledge of spatial requirements, product data, and construction standards.
Responsibilities
* Execute project deliverables as coordinated by the Project Manager.
* Coordinate documentation that captures design decisions, addressing functionality and programmatic needs.
* Maintain alignment with design intent and raise concerns when necessary.
* Create design documentation during schematic through construction administration phase.
* Coordinate custom furniture and fixture details to align with design direction.
* Review outside consultants' drawings and assist with shop drawing reviews and RFIs.
* Independently manage tasks and delegate project team tasks as required.
* Communicate with clients to distribute project deliverables and seek information.
* Train and mentor Technical Designer I.
Essential Skills
* Technical architecture experience utilizing AutoCAD for restaurant projects.
* Experience leading construction administration for restaurant projects.
* Ability to produce millwork drawings in AutoCAD.
* 5-7 years of relevant experience within the restaurant/custom hospitality market.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design.
* Sketchup skills for interpreting renderings are a plus.
Work Environment
Work in a beautiful, lively office on the outskirts of West Loop with an open concept and dog-friendly atmosphere. Enjoy flexible start times between 8:00-9:00 am and a schedule of Monday to Thursday in-office, with Fridays age in team outings at the nearby brewery, participate in a summer weekend retreat for team bonding, and work on 100% custom projects. Expect a workload of 42-45 hours per week, with busy periods during deadlines.
Benefit from 10 days of PTO in the first year, increasing incrementally, and enjoy holiday pay and time off during Christmas and New Year's week.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
