Your role as a Gensler Project Architect involves collaborating with Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions and coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase. You will translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images, and research artistic and technical issues as they arise. What

You Will Do
  • Collaborate on design projects in the retail and hospitality practice areas, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and documentation.
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Coordinate documentation with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.).
  • Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues.
  • Manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
  • Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review submittals and finish samples.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school.
  • Licensure required.
  • 10+ years of experience with commercial architectural design.
  • Experience with Higher Education projects (schools, colleges, and universities) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Sketch Up, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite; preferred but not required.
  • Strong skills in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office desired.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, Enscape, VRay also beneficial.
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants.
  • Experience working directly with contractors.
  • Experience resolving complex technical and design issues.
  • Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of how buildings are constructed and the ability to create technical documents that accurately describe the work.
  • Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, or Net Zero Building certification.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary $97,000 – $120,000 plus bonuses and benefits, contingent on relevant experience.
