Position: Estimator – Seeking Flexible Packaging Experience

The Estimator contributes to the success of Eagle Flexible Packaging (“Eagle”) by providing accurate and timely sales estimates, performing job cost analyses, entering and maintaining data, and supporting other partner teams on an as needed basis to include Information Technology, ERP, and Procurement. This role requires a high degree of detail orientation and accountability along with a willingness and ability to work at a fast pace.

Experience in the flexible packaging industry strongly preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prospects from Sales & Marketing.
  • New items or opportunities for existing customers.
  • Re-orders.
  • Compile pricing and submissions for RFP/RFQ (Request for Proposal/Request for Quotation).
  • Outbound outsource quote requests.
  • Manage quotes in EPS-Radius, including active, inactive, sent, and archived quotes.
  • Assist in design of Crystal Reporting documents, including customer facing documents.
  • Update master estimates periodically based on actual performance and/or Purchasing/Production requirements for future jobs.
  • Job cost analysis:
    • Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs.
    • Provide data management needs to make important decisions based on costs and benefits.
    • Recommend and direct changes in operating procedures to improve efficiencies in manufacturing processes.
    • Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs.
    • Evaluate cost assumptions to improve estimating accuracy.
    • Update EPS-Radius material (set-up and running scrap) and work center tables, as needed.
    • Ensure Project Management and Sales teams are notified of any significant changes in pricing assumptions due to actual performance.
  • Cross-functional support responsibilities, including supporting the IT and Procurement departments with special projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent (GED).
  • Detail-oriented and accountable for the accuracy of the information provided to external and internal customers, including the Production team.
  • Sense of urgency to complete responsibilities with thoroughness, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective time management skills with ability to work independently and maximize productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional proficiency in verbal and written English, including ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in keyboarding/typing skills, including ability to efficiently manage a high level of email correspondence and data entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with proven ability to learn complex new software programs.
Preferred Qualification
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum two years’ experience serving customers in time sensitive capacity.
  • Experience in sales and/or production estimating and/or job cost analysis in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, including proven ability to coach and motivate team members and address performance concerns.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, ideally EPS-Radius.
  • Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
Pay

$60,000 to $90,000 per year
