About the Role
This role will help drive the impact of our AI‑enabled care platform designed to help clinicians deliver the next guideline‑based step in a patient’s care journey. As a Staff Product Designer, you will design platform‑level, end‑to‑end workflows that solve complex challenges across a variety of user roles. You will work closely with leadership, product, engineering and other stakeholders to shape our technology‑forward business strategy, align cross‑functional teams, and advocate for clinical users facing information fatigue.

- Influence & Approach:
Act as a strategic thought‑leader alongside product management and senior leadership; manage and maintain precision in all communication; foster a culture of documentation and knowledge‑sharing across teams; anticipate and mitigate roadblocks; mentor other designers and provide regular design feedback. - Collaboration & Culture:
Lead workshops between engineering, product, and operations to resolve requirements and influence roadmaps; work with product and engineering counterparts to define and scope problems; align stakeholders on goals and approach; leverage the design team for feedback; be a reliable resource on platform strategy, use cases, and workflows; describe use cases in tandem with business objectives.
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in fast‑paced creative environments.
- Proactive, natural collaborator capable of aligning various department leaders.
- Growth mindset, comfortable learning and improving; preference for progress over perfection.
- Exceptional product design skills and ability to execute strategic and conceptual thinking.
- Experience designing for highly technical users such as data scientists, machine learning engineers, bioinformaticians, and translational researchers.
- Compelling portfolio of high‑quality design work.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Customer‑centric focus on needs and wants.
- Experience with Figma, Cursor and other comparable tools.
- Industry experience is ideal but not required; understanding of healthcare data challenges.
The expected salary range is $125,000 - $175,000 for Illinois, with variations for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
