ARCHITECT IV – Chicago Department of Aviation, CDA Design and Construction

The Chicago Department of Aviation seeks an Architect IV to perform complex professional architectural duties on large‑scale design, construction, and renovation projects for municipal buildings, facilities, and structures. The role supports the department’s mission of ensuring safe, efficient, and accessible aviation infrastructure across the city.

• Technical Advisory
  :
  Coordinates architectural aspects with engineers, utility managers, design consultants, construction managers, project managers, and contractors; reviews design and construction deliverables and provides recommendations on behalf of the City.
• Project Management
  :
  Manages large design and construction projects; reviews technical drawings, RFIs, proposed changes, and contract amendments to ensure compliance with municipal codes, industry best practices, project specifications, and recommends changes. May perform additional duties as required.

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus at least 3 years of professional architectural experience.
• Alternatively, graduation with a Master’s degree in Architecture plus at least 2 years of professional experience.
• Must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).
