Architect / Architectural Staff Designer
LaSalle is hiring for an Architect / Architectural Staff Designer to join a collaborative, high-energy studio at one of Illinois' leading Architecture, Engineering, and Interior Design firms — and a Crain's Top 100 Best Places to Work in Chicago. - Carry out complex architectural assignments requiring development and implementation of new or improved techniques and procedures
- Participate in the iterative design process by preparing design alternatives and ensuring coordination between aesthetics and technical performance
- Coordinate, distribute, and review work from consultants, engineers, and internal staff to ensure design alignment and project consistency
- Prepare architectural drawings, technical details, and project documentation including schematic designs, design development drawings, and construction documents
- Manage the BIM model in Revit and BIM 360, monitoring model quality and supporting BIM-enabled workflows
- Assist in field surveys and site observations, translating field conditions into accurate virtual models
- Utilize Revit, Enscape3D, and other rendering tools to create visualizations, models, and presentation graphics
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning requirements, and industry standards
- Generate design concepts for color palettes, materials, and FF&E selection, including cut sheets, schedules, CSI specifications, and budgets
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture required
- 5+ years of experience working in an architecture firm
- Strong hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD for construction documents
- Strong BIM skills with experience in BIM 360, including model coordination and troubleshooting
- Licensure not required, but candidates must be actively pursuing licensure in the state of Illinois
- Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and basic detailing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preferred experience with Enscape3D, Sketch Up, or other 3D modeling software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
