Project Architect - Mid Level

Your Role As a Gensler Project Architect you will collaborate with our Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise.

• Collaborate on design projects in the life sciences and healthcare practice areas, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and documentation.
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
• Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.).
• Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues.
• Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
• Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction.
• Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples.
• Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school.
• Licensure required.
• 5+ years of experience with commercial architectural design.
• Experience with Higher Education projects (schools, colleges, and universities) is preferred.
• Proficiency with Sketch Up, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required.
• Strong Revit skills and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator);
  Microsoft Office experience desired.
• AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Rhino, Enscape, VRay also beneficial.
• Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants.
• Experience working directly with contractors.
• Experience resolving complex technical and design issues.
• Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions.
• Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done.
• Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills.
• Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable.
• Experience with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification on built projects.

Base salary estimated between $80,000 and $95,000 plus bonuses and benefits, contingent on relevant experience. Gensler also reimburses certain professional licenses, renewals, exam fees and tuition for eligible programs.
