The Industrial Design Intern position will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the company.
This is a paid opportunity.
Working on the Product Development team, an interdisciplinary team of designers and engineers, you will:
Specific responsibilities include:
- Research:
Including competitive analysis, competitive testing, user observation and concept validation. - Concept Generation:
Individual and team brainstorms, including (1) Flight Day. - Concept Sketching:
Strong sketching skills required to communicate new ideas and present them to the team - CAD Development:
You will create 3D CAD A-Surfacing models ideally in Rhino. - Rendering:
Create CAD renderings in Keyshot responsible for color, material and finish. - Prototype
Skills:
Collaborate with the prototype shop to make Works-Like mock-ups and Looks-Like prototypes.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will be an upper classman majoring in Industrial Design with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have prior internship experience.
- The individual must be an effective problem solver who is committed to producing products of exceptional quality and beautiful design.
- The individual should be open to hearing team feedback and applying it to improve their projects through the development cycle.
- The individual loves the craft of designing including a passion for sketching and ideating through sketching.
- The individual should be proficient in CAD ideally in Rhino or Solidworks Surfacing.
