Overview
The Division of Surgical Oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Responsibilities include providing surgical services at Northwestern Medicine's downtown Chicago location. This role will include training residents, taking call, rounding and caring for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team, and responding to daily local consultation requests and referrals.
The candidate will play a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming throughout our cancer program and will have significant opportunities for leadership development throughout the Northwestern Medicine system. This position will include a faculty appointment within the Division of Surgical Oncology of Northwestern University. Responsibilities- Provide surgical services at Northwestern Medicine's downtown Chicago location.
- Train residents, participate in daily rounds, and care for pre-operative and post-operative patients in collaboration with the clinical team.
- Respond to daily local consultation requests and referrals.
- Contribute to growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming across the cancer program.
- Engage in leadership development opportunities within the Northwestern Medicine system.
- Hold a faculty appointment within the Feinberg School of Medicine Division of Surgical Oncology.
- Strong background in clinical surgical oncology, with preference for experience in soft tissue sarcoma and skin malignancies, and complex gastrointestinal surgery.
- Completed an ACGME-accredited complex surgical oncology fellowship program.
- Board certified or eligible in complex general surgical oncology.
- Eligibility to participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine (e.g., training, preceptorship, mentoring) and/or research programs (e.g., participation in clinical trials, referring patients for clinical trials).
