The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute.

• Provide care of inpatients and outpatients with pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
• Assist in caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma, and see referral hematology/oncology consultations throughout the Central Illinois Region.
• Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents, and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
• Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology.
• Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) consortium.
• Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration as needed.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

• Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
• Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Three years of Pediatrics Residency and three years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
• MD/DO or equivalent.

• Interest and experience in leukemia/lymphoma is desired.
