The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for an Assistant/Associate Professor position. The role requires 3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship and the ideal candidate will be BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and will hold or have applied for an Illinois physician’s license. Salary: $179,000 to $298,200 per year.
Location:
Peoria, IL USA.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care for a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including patients at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood Disorder Institute.
- Conduct referral hematology/oncology consultations from across the Central Illinois Region.
- Assume a primary role in caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
- Fully participate in teaching programs for undergraduate medical students, residents, and continuing education within the Department.
- Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in pediatric hematology/oncology.
- Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).
- Perform additional faculty duties such as committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration as needed.
- Engage in special projects and related responsibilities as assigned.
- Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
- Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
- 3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
- MD/DO or equivalent.
- Interest and experience in leukemia/lymphoma.
