Position: Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics (Hematology/Oncology)

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for an Assistant/Associate Professor position. The role requires 3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship and the ideal candidate will be BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and will hold or have applied for an Illinois physician’s license. Salary: $179,000 to $298,200 per year.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care for a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including patients at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood Disorder Institute.
  • Conduct referral hematology/oncology consultations from across the Central Illinois Region.
  • Assume a primary role in caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
  • Fully participate in teaching programs for undergraduate medical students, residents, and continuing education within the Department.
  • Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in pediatric hematology/oncology.
  • Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).
  • Perform additional faculty duties such as committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration as needed.
  • Engage in special projects and related responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
  • Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
  • 3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
  • MD/DO or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest and experience in leukemia/lymphoma.
