The Department of Radiology includes more than 80 full‑time faculty members, clinical associates, advanced practice providers, and postdoctoral researchers. A tradition of excellence in patient care, basic, clinical, and translational sciences, combined with the strengths of one of the world's top academic institutions, provides the foundation for a robust career in the University of Chicago Medical System. The University of Chicago Medicine is a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Care Center, and a referral center for numerous neurologic and otolaryngologic disorders.

The Advanced Practice Provider provides comprehensive patient care within a multidisciplinary clinical environment, utilizing advanced clinical knowledge, evidence‑based practices, and independent clinical judgment within the scope of licensure, credentialing, and established practice standards. The role is responsible for the assessment and management of patients, the development and implementation of plans of care, and the performance of image‑guided and other clinical procedures for which the provider is appropriately trained, credentialed, and privileged.

The Advanced Practice Provider works collaboratively with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to support the delivery and coordination of high quality patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings.

• Provide comprehensive clinical assessment and management of patients within the scope of practice, including obtaining patient histories, performing physical examinations, developing differential diagnoses, and establishing appropriate plans of care.
• Perform image‑guided and other clinical procedures for which the provider has been appropriately trained, credentialed, and privileged, independently and/or in collaboration with supervising or attending physicians as appropriate.
• Provide care to patients across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings, including participation in inpatient rounding and outpatient clinical activities.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic tests within the provider's scope of practice and use findings to inform clinical decision making and treatment planning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care and modify treatment plans based on patient response, clinical findings, and established standards of care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, treatment options, anticipated outcomes, follow‑up care, and other information necessary to support informed health care decisions.
• Coordinate patient care across the continuum, including consultation, referrals, discharge planning, follow‑up care, and communication with members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collaborate and consult with physicians, nurses, Advanced Practice Providers, and other health care professionals to promote safe, effective, and coordinated patient care.
• Document patient assessments, clinical findings, procedures, treatment plans, and other required information accurately and timely within the Electronic Medical Record and other applicable clinical systems.
• Identify changes in patient condition, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and initiate appropriate clinical interventions or escalation of care when necessary.
• Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols, workflows, and other initiatives designed to support consistent and effective patient care.
