Position Summary

Dominican University welcomes applicants for a full-time lecturer position in mathematics, to begin in August 2026. The position is on-site at Dominican University’s River Forest campus.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Teaching a total of 24 credit hours in the academic year (fall and spring semesters)
  • Teaching courses at the level of calculus and below, including developmental courses (below the level of college algebra) and introductory statistics
  • Attending meetings for faculty at the department, college, and university levels
  • Participating in mathematics departmental and university service activities
  • Actively participating in college and university committees
  • Contributing to the service needs of the department
Required Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field OR a master’s degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field along with five years of teaching experience at the college level
  • Official transcripts will be required of finalists; submission instructions will be provided to applicants as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching introductory statistics
  • Experience teaching mathematics courses at levels ranging from pre-algebra to college algebra
  • Experience teaching students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds
  • Experience teaching students with documented disabilities in mathematics
Salary and FLSA Status
  • FLSA Status:
    Exempt, 37.5 hours
