Overview

The YMCA is hiring a Program Site Manager for the Community Schools Initiative program. The role focuses on program quality, curriculum implementation, staff leadership, and managing snacks, materials, and supplies for the program. The position may involve direct service when necessary.

Pay:
Starts at $43,888–$45,000 per year with full-time benefits and opportunities for growth within the organization.

Scope and Responsibilities
  • Implements program curriculum with school-aged program staff while ensuring the program follows DCFS and YMCA standards
  • Provides on-site guidance to staff to adhere to program quality standards
  • Facilitates collaboration among program staff, including planning and leading staff meetings
  • Enhances parent/guardian/caregiver engagement and ensures program quality expectations are met
  • Collaborates with teachers, principals, and school staff to align and execute program activities for success
  • Maintains and audits all program files according to DCFS and YMCA standards
  • Assists in development and execution of special events and seasonal programs (e.g., Day Camp) for members and participants
  • Participates in program marketing and retention activities
  • Fills in for other staff as needed
  • Hires, develops, motivates, and retains a committed team aligned with the YMCA’s mission
  • Completes all job-related, supervisory, and training requirements
Minimum Requirements &

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old and/or 5 years older than the oldest participating child
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to make decisions and communicate effectively with parents and children
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the following:
    • 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university with 12 related to school-age childcare, child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping, or related fields, plus 750 hours of relevant experience
    • 6 semester hours of related credit plus 1560 hours of relevant experience
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in youth and family programming with at least 2 years in supervisory or team leadership roles
  • Strategic thinking skills for planning, goal setting, progress monitoring, and adjusting plans
  • Strong organizational ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Customer service orientation with effective communication with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers, team members, and other stakeholders
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and email proficiency; ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to meet physical qualifications as outlined in the job description; reasonable accommodations available
  • Willingness to register with the Gateways Registry and complete required online training for the designated program area (based on funding)
Child Abuse Prevention
  • Report items that may pose health or safety hazards to the supervisor
  • Follow policies and procedures to keep children safe in facilities and programs
  • Report suspicious behavior and policy violations to the supervisor
  • Complete all required child abuse prevention training
