Job Description Summary

The budgeted salary for this position is typically $1,000 per credit hour.

This position is ineligible for health, dental, and life insurance benefits through Chicago State University.

The Adjunct faculty member will serve as a key team member in the Division of Nontraditional Programs and Continuing Education. The candidate will use a variety of instructional methods to teach and assess students.

* Develop course curriculum.

* Create a course syllabus for each class they teach.

* Attend required training for academic advisors

* Deliver and lead discussions for the course they are assigned to teach.

* Collaborate with other professors to create coursework.

* Schedule and facilitate Program Majors meetings

* Assist in recruiting and marketing.

* Select and implement a variety of instructional material.

* Evaluate student learning outcomes.

* Maintain accurate records of a student's academic progress.

* Be accessible to students via phone, academic advising hours, LMS, Zoom and email.
• Participate in all mandatory training offered by the university.

* Participate in professional development opportunities.

* Engage students in and outside of class.

* Adhere to all university policies and requirements.

* Adhere to all other duties as assigned.

Required Education

Master's Degree in education or similar field.

Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

* Possess strong communication and presentation skills.

* Possess strong technical skills.

* Possess a working knowledge of using a Learning Management System (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) to teach, engage and assess students.

* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

* Possess teaching experience at the post-secondary level or higher.

* Possess good time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Possess three more years teaching at the Community College or higher.

* Possess an active research agenda in the field of Adult Education.
