iMentor Chicago matches predominantly first-generation, Chicago public high school students with adult mentors who help them navigate the journey to and through college and along other post-secondary career pathways. This upcoming fall, we will serve students at five CPS high schools and are looking for mentors from a variety of career backgrounds and diverse social identities to mentor high school juniors.
To support the success of the relationship, each pair is assigned a dedicated program manager and has access to mentor workshops and resources.
Every year, iMentor hosts fall Career Speed Networking events for 11th- and 12th-grade students at North Grand High School, Phoenix Military Academy, and Chicago Military Academy (Bronzeville). We are looking for working professionals to share their educational and career journeys with students while helping them build and expand their networks.
Our students are preparing to write their post-high school stories, and it is important to expose them to a wide range of backgrounds and pathways. If you’re unsure whether your experience will resonate with a student, don’t worry—just sign up. Your perspective will help a student broaden their understanding and strengthen their network. Everything is structured, and you just come as yourself, ready to connect and share.
