Salary:
The budgeted salary range for the position is $85,000 to $110,000 at the Clinical or Teaching Assistant Professor level, $105,000 to $125,000 at the Clinical or Teaching Associate Professor level, and $120,000 to $170,000 at the Clinical or Teaching Professor level. Salary is based on 9-month academic appointments paid over twelve months, with the opportunity for additional summer assignments. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience while also considering internal equity.

Position Summary
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing invites exceptional and promising nurse leaders with demonstrated experience in school nursing to apply for a full-time, non-tenured professorial faculty position in the Department of Population Health Nursing Science. This position will be focused on teaching the school nurse curriculum in the certification program within the College of Nursing and will be responsible for teaching both didactic and clinical courses.
The faculty member will serve as the academic lead for the School Nurse Certification program, providing high-level oversight, strategic coordination, and leadership for all aspects of the program. In this capacity, the faculty member is responsible for ensuring program quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role also encompasses program development and the integration of educational, clinical, and research activities to strengthen the program's impact and advancement.
Faculty advance scholarship on multilevel determinants of health (psychosocial, behavioral, environmental, and systems) and translate this scholarship into practice, care delivery, and policy to improve the health of individuals, families, communities, organizations, and populations. The Department of Population Health Nursing Science oversees four Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs in the following concentrations:
Advanced Population Health Nursing, Health Systems Leadership and Informatics, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching:
Non-Tenure Track professorial faculty participate in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Undergraduate and graduate teaching consists of traditional classroom lectures, seminars, distance learning, and small groups for clinical instruction.
* Demonstrates a range of teaching activities (e.g., teaching assistantships, lectures, courses taught, hours and nature of direct student teaching, numbers of students).
* Demonstrates practice expertise in area of specialization (e.g., national certification/credentials as appropriate).
* Uses current knowledge and/or research in teaching.
* Demonstrates principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching philosophy and approaches.
Scholarship/Research:
Non-Tenure Track professorial faculty are responsible for advancing nursing-focused scholarship and research that spans broad content areas, diverse research designs and methodological strategies, including those associated with the biological and social sciences as well as the humanities.
* Articulates a plan for a program of scholarship related to practice.
* Displays evidence of scholarly activities (e.g., presentations, publications, guideline development).
* Affirms commitment to principles of equity, inclusion, and diversity in their practice and scholarship.
Practice/Service:
Non-Tenure Track faculty may contribute to the service mission of the university commensurate with their percent of time allocated to the College. Service activities are conducted in a culturally safe and appropriate manner that demonstrate value for the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. Participation may include service at local, regional, national, and international level.
