Job Summary

Responsible for instructing students in a middle grades classroom serving class sizes of 12-13 students at Steward Elementary School.

Requirements include gathering formative data to: create standards-based lesson plans; instruct students in subjects including English /Language Arts, Social Studies and social-emotional learning,; provide quality feedback for student growth, and maximize cross-curricular opportunities for a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program. Ability to team and flexibly work with colleagues is an absolute must. Strong written, verbal and reading proficiencies are key prerequisites.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Use various methods such as oral presentation, workshops, discussion, etc. to provide instructions to individual students, as well as small and whole groups.
  • Prepare standards-based lessons utilizing materials, homework/assignments, formative and summative assessments, etc. to meet district/state prioritized curriculum goals.
  • Create interactive classroom environment for students.
  • Develop classroom standards to maintain student discipline and behavior.
  • Evaluate student performance regularly and prepare progress reports.
  • Communicate regularly with parents on student performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and materials to substitute teachers.
  • Perform school supervisory duties as and when needed.
  • Work with other faculty to identify and address student health, behavioral, and learning issues.
  • Conduct classes as per the designated schedule.
  • Establish learning objectives and goals clearly.
  • Develop and implement effective learning programs in conjunction with colleagues and administration.
