Lower School Assistant Teacher

Latin School of Chicago is seeking Assistant Teachers for grades Junior Kindergarten through Fourth Grade for the  school year. The Assistant Teacher program goals are to provide each Assistant Teacher with an authentic teaching and learning experience under the supervision of lead teachers. The starting salary for this full-time position is $31,409 with additional stipends available. A high-quality employee-only benefits package is included.

• Assist the lead teacher in the daily operation and management of the classroom
• Help promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment for students
• Build and nurture positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
• In collaboration with the lead teacher, and depending on your interests and skills, you may also have opportunities to:
• Assist in planning, developing, and implementing classroom curriculum
• Support instruction and facilitate student learning as directed by the lead teacher
• Help with grading, student assessment, and maintaining accurate documentation under the guidance of the lead teacher
