KIPP Chicago seeks English Learners Teachers (EL) who are Bilingual (Spanish) and licensed to provide English Learners with both direct instruction and additional resources and supports in the general program of instruction. This teacher will ensure that students keep pace with peers in the core academic content areas as well as develop proficiency in English in accordance with individual ACCESS goals.

At KIPP Chicago, we have 8 campuses. Elementary Schools include grades K-4, and Middle Schools include grades 5-8. We have 4 elementary schools—KIPP Ascend Primary, KIPP Academy Chicago Primary, KIPP Bloom Primary, and KIPP One Primary. We also have 4 middle schools—KIPP Ascend Middle School, KIPP Academy Chicago, KIPP Bloom College Prep, and KIPP One Academy. Responsibilities
  • Mission Alignment:
    Believe that all students can and will be successful, maintain a growth mindset, and commit to professional growth and the mission of KIPP Chicago and antiracism.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is essential.
  • Multilingual Instruction—Teach and Assess:
    Design learning plans based on ACCESS language test results, create differentiated lesson plans to build bilingual students’ English skills in Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing, teach regular ESL lessons with small groups, provide bilingual instruction in support of grade-level content, prepare students to pass the ACCESS test, and administer the annual ACCESS English proficiency test.
  • Care of Students and Commitment to School and Classroom Culture:
    Ensure all students are affirmed, valued, and challenged; manage behavior with best practices; establish strong communication with students and families; and help develop a school-wide culture that fits the needs of students, staff, and families.
