Provides financial aid and scholarship guidance and assistance to students and parents in obtaining federal, state, institutional and private student aid funding.
Duties & Responsibilities- Meet with and counsel students and parents in obtaining various sources of financial assistance funds including federal, state, and private and institutional scholarships. Provide information about available programs, procedures and eligibility requirements.
- Review financial aid applications and related documentation for completeness, compliance and eligibility. Audit and verify content of applications, tax forms and supporting documents and follow up on missing information.
- Create, update and adjust awards based on an analysis of eligibility and various edit reports and an evaluation of the level and type of assistance that can be awarded.
- Collaborate with staff across campus to facilitate program success via the centralized scholarship portal. Research and respond to inquiries, problems and issues as they may arise from various sources.
- Participate in and present financial aid workshops, presentations and orientations for internal and external audiences. This would include students, parents, Work with specific student population as determined by College in which the student is seeking their degree.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
- College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Work experience coordinating office, business, or customer service/relations activities.
- Knowledge of customer service (the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction).
- Extensive knowledge of financial-aid programs and of university academic requirements and parameters.
