John hersey high school is seeking a passionate and dedicated math teacher to join our dynamic team. Math teacher - 0.8 fte

Responsibilities:
* deliver engaging and effective mathematics instruction to students at all levels, including skills and lep (limited english proficiency).
* implement a standards-driven curriculum and create a student-centered classroom environment.
* differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
* collaborate with colleagues in course-alike groups and interdisciplinary planning teams.
* develop and utilize creative instructional strategies and resources based on best practices.
* employ a variety of assessment practices (formative, summative, selected response, extended written response, performance-based) to maximize student learning.
* provide multiple and varied opportunities for students to achieve daily objectives.
* utilize research-based instructional strategies to increase student achievement.
* establish and maintain a professional growth plan
* integrate technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
* communicate effectively with students and parents regarding student progress.
* coordinate and share instructional lessons with team members.
* assist in the implementation of the school-wide improvement plan.
* complete administrative duties in a timely fashion.
* perform other tasks assigned by building administration or designee.
* support building extracurricular activities as a coach or sponsor.
Qualifications:
* state of illinois professional educator license (pel) with a senior hs endorsement in mathematics.
* esl endorsement required.
* must be willing to teach all levels of math, including skills and/or lep.
* must have outstanding training and/or experiences as an educator.
* must have a strong background in mathematics (and if applicable, science) instruction in a standards-driven curriculum.
* training and experience in implementing a standards-based learning environment inside a student-centered classroom is preferred.
* must be able and willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
* must work effectively within our professional learning team model.
* must be well-versed in a wide variety of assessment practices that maximize student learning.
* must use a variety of instructional methods & practices to meet individual student needs.
* must provide multiple and varied opportunities for students to achieve daily objectives.
* possess and continue to develop technology skills that drive instruction.
