Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

CLINICAL ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE / FULL PROFESSOR

Mechanical Engineering – The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) seeks two full-time non-tenure-track, open rank clinical faculty members.

Responsibilities
  • Teach university-level courses in Mechanical Engineering or related fields (including Design courses).
  • Advise students and provide assistance with departmental and university services as needed.
Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching university-level courses in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Program and Department Information

The Department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, with undergraduate enrollment of 1,111 and graduate enrollment of 158. For more information about the Department, please visit mie.uic.edu.

Salary and Appointment Details

The salary ranges for the two positions are as follows: $80,000 to $110,000/yr for the Assistant Professor level, $110,000 to $130,000/yr for the Associate Professor level, and $130,000 to $150,000/yr for the Full Professor level, all on a 9-month service basis. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications and budget constraints.
