Full-time/Part-time Faculty PositionsFull-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Applicants will be evaluated at the college/school level for the position which they are submitting an application. Unless noted by a close date, positions will remain open until they are filled. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding.
Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Position
Description:
The Theatre School at DePaul University invites applications for a Full-Time Professional Lecturer to serve on the faculty in the Theatre Studies Department.
The Theatre School is an urban multicultural conservatory located in the heart of Chicago's vibrant theatre community. The ideal candidate will be a multi-faceted artist and educator with extensive experience in Comedy as well as the larger Theater Studies field. The ideal candidate will be an effective teacher, accomplished professional, strong collaborator, visionary comedy and theatre practitioner, and a proactive leader.
The position begins in September 2026
Responsibilities- Teaching: teach 6 courses over the year. Specific course assignments will be determined in consultation with Liz Joynt Sandberg, Head of Comedy Arts, and Carlos Murillo, chair of the Theatre Studies department, and will include both Comedy and other Theatre Studies courses, in accordance with the candidate's areas of expertise.
- Advising in Comedy Arts and Theatre Studies
- Production: involvement in Comedy and Theatre Studies production programs, including administrative and advising support
- Service: full participation in faculty service activities for the Theatre Studies department and Theatre School, including curricular development, student advising, recruitment activities, and other relevant committees and activities
- Research/Scholarship/Creative
Activities:
expectation of continued involvement in the Comedy and Theatre profession and related activities
The Theatre School, located on the university's Lincoln Park campus two miles north of the Chicago Loop, enrolls 460 students. Our faculty includes leading Chicago theatre artists across all disciplines. Faculty members are active participants in the Chicago theatre community.

QualificationsCandidates for consideration will possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, advising, and/or supervising young artists
- Evidence of a diverse, professional production and/or client portfolio
- Extensive knowledge of Comedy and Theatre, including:
- Knowledge in the history and theory of Comedy and Theatre
- Experience in multiple comedic and theatrical practices and modalities
- Expertise in intersectional comedic and theatrical production
- Extensive experience collaborating with artists at all competency levels
- Experience with a variety of dramatic forms and venues or media
- Professional experience equivalent to and/or a terminal degree in Comedy or Theatre or related fields

Salary Information:
The salary range for this 10-month position is $74,000 - $79,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
